PNC and Fairfax: Together Building a Stronger Community

As we mark the first anniversary of the PNC Fairfax Connection this month, there are many achievements and milestones to celebrate.  For instance, there’s the member who found employment using the resources at the center, the preschooler who is better prepared for kindergarten, the small business owner who strengthened his business plan and the teenager who mastered video production.

These are just a few examples of people who are coming together to achieve great things at PNC Fairfax Connection.  We continue to hear wonderful stories from our members who have turned an experience or program at the center into a personal success.

Please  celebrate these accomplishments with us on Saturday, September 28 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and experience for yourself the rich resources available to everyone in this community.

Come get your own “Passport to Achievement” and learn more about PNC Fairfax Connection by taking part in fun activities with giveaways for the whole family.  And thanks to the PNC Grow Up Great program and our sponsorship of Sesame Street™, we are pleased to feature The PNC Mobile Learning Adventure activity tent and welcome a special guest appearance by Walkaround Elmo.

In the meantime, don’t miss the entire line up of engaging September programs, including:

Computers 101:  A six-week computer training class by Ashbury Senior Computer Community Center for seniors and adults designed to help you learn the basics.  Classes begin Sept. 4 – Oct. 25.  Registration is required by calling 216-421-2305.

Teen Ladies Dance Workshop:  In partnership with Vision of Angels Youth Foundation, this program encourages physical fitness through the art of modern dance, hip hop and praise dance.  Designed for ages 7 – 17.

Job Search 2013:  This workshop features instruction on the best websites to use in a job search.  You’ll also learn tips on how to utilize the computers available at PNC Fairfax Connection and how to navigate software to help you find, apply and land a job.  A free resource guide is included.

A complete list of workshops is available at the center (8220 Carnegie Ave.), via phone at 216-391-4677 or online at www.pncfairfaxconnection.com.  Please stop by and see us today!
