Neighborhood Connections is a program of Suite 1300 Services, Inc., an affiliate of The Cleveland Foundation. The purpose of the program is to provide financial assistance to neighborhood-based groups in the city of Cleveland.  The program funds projects that focus on improving the quality of life in Cleveland neighborhoods by providing grants ranging from $500 to $5,000.  There are two rounds of grants each year, with deadlines in February and August.

Because the program is a new form of grantmaking for The Cleveland Foundation, it was phased in over three years.  Now the program is citywide, and grants are available in all neighborhoods in the City of Cleveland.  Grants are intended to benefit a particular Cleveland neighborhood. (see Eligible Neighborhoods).

To ensure that neighborhood priorities are funded, The Cleveland Foundation has delegated its grant evaluation role and all funding decisions to a Grant Making and Monitoring Committee composed of 25 Cleveland residents (see Grant Making Committee).  This group reviews all grant applications and makes final decisions as to which grants are funded and at what level.

In addition to generally improving neighborhoods, grants are intended to assist neighborhood groups with building or strengthening relationships to other neighborhood groups and to larger, more-established community-based organizations.
