Five years ago, we officially launched Neighbor Up Network Night in University Circle. The goal was to bring people together in a positive environment to see what they could make happen.
The result has been wildly successful. Several innovations sprung from that monthly gathering and so many people have joined Neighbor Up since then (we’re now at almost 3,000 members!) that we’ve trained folks to launch their own Neighbor Up Nights.
There are now monthly Neighbor Up gatherings in Buckeye-Shaker, Glenville, Hough, West Park and Mt. Pleasant. With all that success, the time has come to restructure our original Network Night.
After much thought and discussion, we’ve come to the decision that after February’s Network Night, we will take a pause.
This pause will give us the opportunity to recreate this space of love, learning and action into a place that also will accommodate the many new innovations and collectives that have been created since it began. We’re working to convene a regular, citywide Neighbor Up gathering (to start later this year) that would take the place of our original Network Night.
We’ve had so many great experiences at the University United Methodist Church, the space that has hosted us so well since 2013. It will surely feel different not showing up there on the first Thursday in March but — rest assured — this is not the end, but a new beginning!
